A proposal || Makenna + Devin ⋆ Vanilla Bean Photography

On October 1st, 2016, a dream came true. I got to photograph a proposal. But not just any proposal, the engagement of one of my best friends. You have seen Makenna around the blog before, and now, a dream of hers has come true too. Let me share this beautiful story with you.

Meet: Devin. The man God brought into Makenna’s life at the perfect moment. Before they met, they were living their lives to glory of God, and now they get to do the same thing, but together. So many parts of their lives compliment each other, like two puzzle pieces. It’s amazing to watch. Devin’s amazing attention to detail and romance made this the most amazing proposal ever.

Taking place at Dash Point, we got to brighten the day for many joggers and dog-walkers. “Is this a wedding?!” they would whisper.

I am terrible at estimating, but there had to have been over 100 candles lining the path to the beach.

Makenna thought that she was going out to dinner with Devin, but when her sister drove her to the park and told her to close her eyes, she knew. This was the day.

Makenna’s father walked to the car, and greeted her. I could see precious tears and sweet words being spoken as he walked her to the bridge.

Thanks to Devin’s face, I couldn’t see the following pictures because of my tears.

As they came near the beach, Makenna saw her family, grandparents, and friends all waiting.

Kneeling under the arbor made from trees from the property where their first house will be built, Devin asked Makenna to be his wife.

And she said yes. *Cue happy tears*

Balloons were released, and Makenna received a red rose with a note tied to it from every person.

As I was editing these pictures with a smile permanently on my face, this song came on my playlist. And I thought it was beyond perfect. (Go ahead, push play while you finish looking at the pictures)
